Voucher Mobility Programs in the US

The first voucher mobility program was started in the 1970’s in the Chicago area, initially it was meant to desegregate neighborhoods. However, as more research has indicated the long term benefits of voucher mobility, different models have begun to be developed across the country. At this time, there is no one model for how to implement a voucher mobility program so each program operates a unique model as we learn more about best practices in this area.
